Chrysanthemum Tea

Instructions

  1. Pick 4-6 small Chrysanthemum flowers from your garden or from your local florist, or a handful of petals of the big ones. 
  2. Rinse under water.
  3. Brew in a covered tea cup or tea pot with hot water for at least 5-10 minutes.
  4. Add sugar or honey as desired. 
  5. Serve.

Coriander Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon whole coriander seeds
  • few fresh coriander leaves
  • hot water



 Instructions

  1. Add coriander seeds and leaves in a cup, pour in boiling hot water.
  2. Brew for 5 minutes with lid on before drinking.

Ginger Soda

I've a confession to make. I'm obsessed with ginger. There, I said it. I'm fascinated by it's goodness and constantly frustrated by how overlooked it has been in any non-oriental cuisine.  Here's anyone that I found delicious, fertility boosting and nausea calming. What more can you ask for?


Ingredients for ginger syrup

  • 500ml water
  • 500g sugar
  • 2cm grated ginger

 Ingredients for ginger soda

  • carbonated water
  • 1/2 lemon / lime juice
  • small amount of grated ginger
  • 3 tablespoons ginger syrup
  • few slices of lime or lemon
  • ice cubes



Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together on a hot summer day. 
  2. Sit yourself in the garden to enjoy it!

Sweet Ginger Snow

Ginger is the best remedy to calm those morning sickness especially during early pregnancy. A cold ginger treat during those hot weather would be most helpful for you I promise.



Ingredients

  • 50g ginger                (washed and grated with skin on)
  • 1/2 fresh lemon        (juiced)
  • 1 egg white               (beat till foamed)
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 liter water

Instructions

  1. Grate ginger and squeeze out as much juice as you can. Set juice aside.
  2. Heat water in a pan, add sugar. 
  3. Stir till sugar all dissolved. Turn off heat. Pour water into a large bowl.
  4. Add ginger juice and lemon juice in sugared water. Mix well.
  5. Whip egg white til it foamed.
  6. Fold in whipped egg in large bowl with mixture.
  7. Cover bowl with cling film and freeze for 2 hours.
  8. Take out the bowl from freezer after 2 hours. 
  9. Fluff up frozen mixture with a fork and serve in a cocktail glass.

 Note: Make sure you use pasteurized eggs from a trust worthy source.

Ginger Tea


Ginger does the best job at settling nausea. Try drink this regularly, but NEVER drink too much with empty stomach. Eat a cracker or a piece of bread before drinking. Herbalist suggests using red sugar or honey instead of white sugar.

Ingredients

  • ginger (about 5-10 cm long)
  • red sugar or honey (1-2 tablespoons)
  • water (1-2 cups)

 Instructions

  1. Wash ginger with skin on. Chop ginger into large pieces, about 1cm thick.
  2. Squash each piece under a knife.
  3. Place ginger in water, boil for 10 minutes, add sugar and serve.
  4. If you are using honey, let tea cools down till 40C before adding. High temperature alters nutrients in honey.

Honey-Poached Orange


 Ingredients

  • one orange
  • 50 g honey
  • 1 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Soak whole orange in fresh water for 10-15 minutes to get rid of the bitterness on the surface.
  2. Cut orange with skin on in 4 quarters or into slices.
  3. Put orange, honey and water in pot with low heat.
  4. Cook gently for an hour.

Cinnamon helps controlling abnormal bleeding during menstruation. Vitamin B6 in apples helps carrying and increasing oxygen level in our body system.

Cinnamon and Apple Tea


Ingredients

  • one cinnamon stick / 1-2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • few slices of apple
  • honey
  • fresh milk

Instructions

  1. Boil cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon together with sliced apple for 2-3 minutes.
  2. You may sift through the apple slices if you don't want them in your tea.
  3. Serve hot with honey and fresh milk if desired. Serve without those is just as nice.
  4. Cool and add ice cubes in those hot summer days for a refreshing cold drink.

Corn Juice



Ingredients

  • 1 ear of corn
  • 1 cup of water


Instructions

  1. Wash and remove kernels from corn. (you may steam your corn for 5 minute before using)
  2. Place kernels and a cup of water in blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Serve fresh or chill as you wish.

As I've already talked about in my previous posts. Both honey and ginger have more benefits in boosting your fertility than you can imagine. So why not try this Honey and Ginger tea, not only it's caffeine free,  it's a refreshing and warming winter drink and does wonders to relieve those annoying cold symptoms.

Tips: Hot water damages nutrients in Honey, therefore, use 40C or lower temperature water for this drink.

 

Honey and Ginger tea

Ingredients

  • 40C water             250ml
  • ginger                   2-3 teaspoons (grated)
  • honey                   1 tablespoon

  1. Place grated ginger in cup together with honey.
  2. Pour warm water in cup and stir.
  3. You may sift through all the grated ginger after stirring if you prefer not to eat it.
